The colours of shipyard

A few people have asked what ship life looks like and also what the ship does for the 2 months that we are not in field service. I couldn’t find a better way than to show you some of the official photos that have been taken. Here you will see Projects personnel doing renovations thought the ship, deck cadets, galley, dinning room and supply staff preparing and serving food. Electricians, carpenters, engineers, deck crew, IS staff; all doing their thing to repair, care for, run and maintain the ship and serve the community on board. There are beautiful glimpses of ship life in community; prayer and quiet time, play, worship, children of the crew being loved upon, and finally an incredible sunset shot from the bow on our sail to Capetown along the east coast of South Africa.

Ladies and gentlemen, an absolutely gifted photographer with an uncanny ability to draw out the essence of the subject in his work. Please give a moment to admire the creativity of Tim Baskerville and the incredible place that is the Africa Mercy.

There will be more to come as we arrive in Benin and begin setting up the hospital and serving the people of West Africa.
